Steps to remove blood from mattress

The components of blood are very special and generally difficult to remove. If there are any on the mattress, the excess must be removed first, followed by a thorough cleaning. Mattress bloodstains: 1. Oxygenated bleach or commercial enzymatic cleaners are good choices, as these cleaners are specially designed to break down proteinaceous organics such as blood. Other cleaning solutions to try include: 1/2 cup of (118 mL) of liquid detergent mixed with 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of water, and stirred until foamy and frothy, one part baking soda mixed with two parts cold water. 2. Clean saturated stained areas. Liquid cleaner, wipe your vacuum with a clean cloth and wring out any excess blood.

Clean the stain until saturated, using a knife or fingers to apply enough cleaning cream to completely cover the stain. Do not spray liquid directly on the mattress, mattresses are very absorbent and if the liquid does not dry out, it can break the structure of the mattress fibers. 3.
