Now scientists have come up with a new solution to reduce running damagespring-soled trainers.
The shoe was designed by a mattress company and a sports scientist at Central Lancashire University (UCLan)
Greatly reduce the impact encountered in the operation process.
Jim Richards, who led the study at the University of California, San Francisco, said injuries affected more than casual runners.
The trainer will try it out at the Royal Society Summer Exhibition, which is open to the public tonight, and will buy it from Intersport later this year.
