Karl Lohnes: What decor project will you promise to complete this year?

2019/09/04
The new year brings new determination to make your life better.
The most popular resolution is self.
Improve (weight loss, quit smoking, drinking, etc)
) Or goals related to relationships, travel and career aspirations.
My determination was personal last year: I decided to lose 30 pounds. Check that off!
The results actually enabled me to reverse my type 2 diabetes, made me feel better and reduced the need for medication.
But my 2019 determination has nothing to do with me.
It\'s about my home.
I want to reduce the size of my items (clothes, books, furniture, etc.
) In return, I want to clear the visual mess and become more focused.
As a person, I hope that making my home look better will also have a positive impact on me.
If your home needs a little attention, here are six decoration solutions that are easy to implement.
Wood burning may not be
No, but there are ways to burn your love in the fireplace.
Adding a candle rack can provide a warm glow, and an electric log/fire plug-in can also provide a warm glow.
Gas inserts can help generate real flames and warmth if there is gas.
Although the price of natural gas is not cheap, it also adds value to your family.
The beginning of the new year is a good time to think about the beds as white sales offer excellent savings.
Give yourself a high quality set of bed sheets (I love Portuguese flannel in winter) or a luxurious new pillow that makes you feel like you have been booked for a few nights
Who does not want to escape in the long cold winter? A bigger investment could be a new mattress and headboard that will give a visual boost, increase comfort and ensure better sleep.
Is your kitchen no longer hot? Try to do some updates and upgrades that will inspire you to revive your cooking and entertainment skills.
Add a new countertop appliance to the kitchen (last year I found the miracle of a new toaster oven), a pull-out spray faucet for the sink, or even invest in new countertops (no replacement is needed if your cabinets are in good condition ).
One of my simplest wardrobe organization tips is to install racks 1 feet above the floor to accommodate shoes and store off season hats and backpacks 1 feet below the ceiling.
Want to be really kind to hire a wardrobe designer and be ready to use ultra-
Organized and attractive wardrobe interior.
Let\'s make sure the next Christmas dinner is the success of a proper table.
In a small space, I would suggest a round base table: no useless corners, more flexible placement of the chair, and no table leg blocking.
Look for an extensible version to place leaf extensions within the table (below) so that you can extend it to the Oval when more seating is needed.
The artwork, which has been placed for too many years, is integrated into the background and becomes invisible.
Get a new appreciation by moving existing art to a new room or wall space, re-
Group it with other pieces or update the frame (outdated frames can even make your favorite art look outdated and less appealing ). —
Simple Start: once you have completed a small task, then you will be encouraged to try the next larger task. —
Find a partner to help with every chore and set a schedule: this will take you accountable and make sure your solution is completed. —
Imagine your success: plan the appearance of the room with your new changes by creating storyboards.
As they say, imagine that it will happen. .
