How to properly remove vomit from a mattress

To clear mattress vomit: 1. Scrape. First, clean the mattress to remove vomit from the surface of the bed.

From the bed, use a paper plate to scrape any solids down and place it in a plastic bag, then discard in the trash. It is a good idea to wear rubber gloves before cleaning up the vomit, this will protect you from any germs. 2. Thoroughly clean.

If the bedding is still on the bed, move them to the floor before washing the mattress. Linens, comforters, mattresses, and other items are washed in the washing machine, at a reasonable temperature, and the bedding can be machine washed, which will help kill any lingering germs. 3. Soak.
