A Maine man has been jailed for two months for illegally entering New Brunswick with air mattresses. Croix river.
Canadian officials say 25-year-
Old John Bennett told police he bought an air mattress at Wal-Mart and crossed the border after being denied entry into Canada at the Calais crossing in Maine.
Bennett was soaked when he was arrested by police late Wednesday.
He acknowledged the charge and was sentenced in St. John\'s provincial court on Thursday.
Residents of Calais, Maine, told police he was worried about the safety of his pregnant Canadian girlfriend.
Canadian officials say he will be deported after serving his sentence.
